DNA Structure
DNA Stucture

The structure of DNA is genetic information of an organism that is encoded within its nucleic acids. One of the major aspects of this genetic information are Nucleotides. Nucleotides are the building blocks of DNA and RNA. These nucleotides are broken down into the 3 major parts:

  • Phosphate Group

  • Pentose Sugar

  • Nitrogenous Bases

Phosphate Groups and Pentose Sugar is what makes up the backbone of the DNA double helix. This backbone alternates a sugar-phosphate sequence.
